Here is a meditation exercise that can help you let go of negative thoughts.
Alright, buckle up for this mind-boggling meditation exercise that will help you kick those negative thoughts to the curb and embrace peace and positivity like a zen master. You got this, champ!
1) Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit or lie down undisturbed. Your dog's favorite spot on the couch will do just fine. And send your kids and/or husband to the store to look for something you are sure of that it may take a while.
2) Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to calm down. Make sure not to hyperventilate though, we're trying to calm down here.
3) Bring your attention to your breathing and observe how you inhale and exhale. Focus on your breathing and marvel at the fact that you're basically a human air filter. Inhale the good vibes, exhale the bad ones.
4) Notice what negative thoughts are currently in your mind. Try not to condemn them, but observe them without going along with them. But treat them like uninvited party guests. Acknowledge their presence, but don't let them crash the party.
5) Visualize representing these negative thoughts as balloons. With each exhalation, release a balloon and watch it slowly rise and disappear into the air. And let them float away like a magical helium-filled escape plan.
6) Repeat this process with each negative thought that comes to mind. Observe how your mind slowly calms down and more space is created for positive thoughts. Keep it until your mind feels as light and airy as a fluffy cloud.
7) Remain seated for as long as you like, when you're done, quietly open your eyes and when you're ready to rejoin the land of the living, take a few more breaths before resuming your day. Congratulations, you've successfully evicted the negativity from your mental space!
Hopefully this meditation exercise will help you let go of negative thoughts and experience more peace and positivity.
Disclaimer: Remember that it may take time and practice to fully let go of negative thoughts, so be patient with yourself. Consistency in practicing meditation can help you develop the ability to observe your thoughts without being controlled by them. And don't forget to be kind to yourself throughout this process - self-compassion is key in overcoming negative thought patterns. Keep practicing and you'll see progress over time.
Good luck and Namaste with a attitude!
